Stockholm 25.-28.7. ●• Day 1
Hello my darlings.
As I shortly told you in my last entry, I had a fabulous time in Stockholm. Gosh that city is wonderful! There´s something, hmm, magical about it… everything from the magnificent view to the different parts of the city – e.g. Old Town and Djurgården – to the people… I love it! I tell you, the people living in Stockholm (and Swedes overall) are so nice and outgoing. Something us Finns may not be at all times. So it was almost as a shock at sometimes when you got the experience that kindness. Stockholm in the summer is… LOVELY!
Anyways, the whole point with this entry is to tell you about my lovely four days in my 2nd best favorite city. Yes, Dublin is still my #1 – even if I´m praising the Swedish capital more than usual in this entry. But hey, you peeps who know me are well aware of my love and admiration for Stockholm.
Since I reckon this entry will become veeeery long if I tell you everything about the four days, I decided to divide it, by telling day-by-day. So in this entry, I will tell you about Monday and then in the following entries, I will tell you about the rest of the days.
So… Monday morning I arrived at the Silja Line harbor in Stockholm with the boat Silja Galaxy. Unusually to other times I´d come with that boat and gone straight into the city, I had booked a breakfast at a hotel nearby. That was really good, considering I got there at 6a.m. (local time) and all the shops etc open at 10a.m. in Stockholm city – so the breakfast was good. I took my time there, ate quite a lot and then I just sat relaxing until, hmm, 9.30a.m. when I left the hotel and went by tube into the city. Then I went straight to the Grand station and waited for Angie, who would come into the city by train around 11.20a.m. Finally she came and George had joined her. During these four days, he was so kind to "rent" us his apartment – saved us around 100 €! *Thank you George!*
When the hugging and "It´s so good to see you"s were over, we went to find a box for our luggage – turned out to not be the easiest task. We didn´t find one at the Grand station so we had to go to another place. I think it´s the bus station… World Trade Center it says outside so… Anyways.
The most exciting thing we did on Monday was to go to the cinema to see Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Pt 2. It was AWESOME! I can´t believe it´s over! The end of an era! But I have to admit, the final scene, where it had gone 19 years… That was just ridicoulus. Funny, yes. Expected, yes. But the actors looked silly, I´m sorry. Especially Dan and Rupert…
Besides from the cinema, we didn´t do anything special or worth mentioning. When we went out to Eckerö, where we would be staying, I had to struggle with my suitcase. Angelica had her backpack but I had my suitcase, which made it so much harder to get through, e.g. on the bus from Brommaplan to Eckerl, it was so narrow and… Well, next time I´m taking my backpack.
I didn´t take any photos on Monday. I thought about it in the city but since my two mates were on the run the whole time, I didn´t wanna "slow them down".
Tuesday´s adventure coming up! ;-)
