"Our way to the Emerald Isle"

Just a bit of advertising for the blog I´ve started together with Angie and Jojje.
The link is on the collage but it might be a bit blurry because of the colour so here´s the link:

The blog is basically about our plans to go to Ireland next year and us planning the trip. It´s in Swedish, yes, but.. Look at the links and videos and photos - I bet it will be a lot of them!

And also, if you´ve been lucky enough to have visited the Emerald Isle, please come with suggestions and ideas about stuff we should do during our visit or places that is a must-see!

Moviiiies =D

Heya peeps!

Been a few days since I blogged now, hasn´t it? Wonder why.
Not that anyone is reading this anyways...

Anyways, what have I been up to lately?
Well... I´ve been working and the main topic for this entry:
I´ve watched 2 awesome movies!

Beastly and I am Number Four.
Both movies star Alex Pettyfer, huuuuuge plus!
He.is.yummy!
Proved once again, I have the mind of a 14-year old! *wink wink*

Beastly is a modern version of Beauty & The Beast, it´s also based on a book. Also starring in the movie are Vanessa Hudgens and Neil Patrick Harris. It´s really, really good! I totally recommend it!

Starring in I am Number Four is Dianna Agron (plays Quinn in Glee). Her and Alex´s chemistry in the movie is amazing! No wonder if they became a couple in real life.
There has been rumours like that going a round so...

BEASTLY

I AM NUMBER FOUR

A little bonus =)
I actaully saw this on TV, was hilarious!

Aaah that Brit accent
;-)

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Review5:05 AM 5/10/2011 by Ray Bennett

Johhny Depp and Penelope Cruz in

The Bottom Line: Jack is back, and this time he has a genuine love interest amid all the action.

Opens: May 20

Cast: Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, Ian McShane

Director: Rob Marshall

Screenwriters: Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio

Johnny Depp searches for the fountain of youth and Keith Richards delivers a soon-to-be-classic line in director Rob Marshall's lively 3D "Pirates."

LONDON – Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is back in excellent form for his fourth adventure in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which is more serious in the hands of a new director, Rob Marshall, and thanks to Penelope Cruz it’s also a good deal sexier.

OUR EDITOR RECOMMENDS

Best known for musicals such as Nine and the Academy Award-winning Chicago, Marshall shows terrific flair with all the usual chases and sword fights, and he handles the 3D well. He also adds a dash of pepper with lively sexual tension between Sparrow and a Spanish firecracker named Angelica (Cruz).
Angelica is Jack’s match for swordplay and sexy banter, and while the tone of the film, which deals with a search for the fountain of youth, is darker than the three directed by Gore Verbinski, its action, adventure and comedy will see it find a similar pot of theatrical gold.
More of the story takes place on dry land than the other films with inventive and exciting set pieces in London and the hills and jungles of an exotic place where lies the secret of perpetual youth.
It begins with Jack in the British capital to find a way to release from prison his stalwart sailmate Gibbs (Kevin McNally). With inspiration from a novel by Tim Powers titled On Stranger Tides, about another captain named Jack, screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio show typical ingenuity in devising hair-raising obstacles for Jack to overcome. In the opening, this involves changing the course of justice in an English court, an encounter with the king in his palace and a riotous chase through the streets of London.
The series’ regular cinematographer, Dariusz Wolski, captures the cityscapes wittily and makes the most of real locations from the city center to the venerable naval museum at Greenwich. Marshall has brought in his usual production designer, John Myhre, who won an Oscar forChicago, and he makes the palaces, pubs and, later, jungle temple breathtakingly shipshape. Hans Zimmer demonstrates again his keen grasp of how a musical score can inform action and elevate mood and tension.
The plot is again driven by a search for something virtually unobtainable as Jack finds himself in a chase to find the fountain of youth in competition with not only the returning Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush, having fun once more) but also the Spanish navy and the most deadly pirate of them all, Blackbeard (Ian McShane).
Cruz makes a splendid entrance in disguise but once revealed she brings her Oscar-winning vivacity to an irrepressible woman who claims to be Blackbeard’s daughter. McShane, too, grabs his first appearance on the bridge of a pirate ship with great panache.
No less would be expected of Rolling Stone Keith Richards, who has a killer line as Jack’s indomitable pirate father when his son asks him whether he’s ever seen the fountain of youth. It feeds cleverly on the Richards legend and will become one of the most-quoted lines from the series.
The film makes an adventurous departure from the traditionally benign view about mermaids. A mermaid’s tear is a vital ingredient of the potion required for the secret of youth and so Blackbeard schemes to ensnare a school of them in nets on an island beach. They turn out to have more in common with one of Davy Jones’ underwater beasts, save one played by sweet-looking Astrid Berges-Frisbey, who falls for an idealistic cleric played by Sam Claflin. The missionary gives Jack fodder for an amusing line, but also puts religious faith in a good light compared to the Spanish Catholics, whose inquisitional devotion makes them the bad guys.
Marshall and his team make good use of 3D in the exterior sequences so that London landmarks and rocky islands look magnificent. It is less successful when CGI is involved, however, as characters sometimes appear to be cut out figures.
At 136 minutes, the film is marginally the shortest in the series and it profits from that. Cruz is a wonderful addition and a teaser following the credits augers well for more so long as Depp continues to get as much enjoyment from playing the role as he gives to his audience.

Eurovision Song Contest 2011 [Semi 2] Result

Estonia

Romania Yay!

Moldova
Ireland Yay!
Bosnia & Herzegovina
Denmark Yay!
Austria
Ukraine
Slovenia
Sweden Yaaaaay!

You see that Sweden was the last country to get a place in the Finale and OMG I never wanna go through that again! I had both lumps and butterflies as huge as... Oh I don´t know...
It was horrible!
But when the Swedish flag finally appeared, the lumps disappeared and the butterflies flied away *hihi*

Eurovision Song Contest 2001 [The Big Five]

Germany
4
This song has a dark charm about it. I don´t know necessarily if it´s better than last year´s Winning Song Satellite but it´s still awesome. And Lena is so beautiful :)

United Kingdom
5
I LOVE THIS!
Sure, Blue is a boyband and I´m a true boyband gal (yes, at the age of 23) but the song itself is sooo good! I liked them when they first started out and I sure as hell like them now, 10 years later!
The MV is gorgeous as well! And, of course, the lads are gorgeous ;-) DuncanY
More on the song... It´s the best one UK has had in years. It seems like they´re starting to take the contest seriously again! As this participation in the ESC is sort of Blue´s comeback I really, really hope they´ll get a great result!

France
4
I really like this song, sort of a Josh Groban/ Il Divo-vibe to it. I don´t understand the language, since it´s Corsican but I still like it. Plus the MV is gorgeous!

The last countries of the Big Five, Spain and Italy...
Their songs aren´t that good.

Eurovision Song Contest 2011 [Semi 2]

SLOVENIA
3
I might not understand a single word of the lyrics in Slovenian, so I´m turning to the French translation I found on Eurovision.tv:
Personne pour te serrer dans ses bras
Personne pour t'aimer comme moi,
Personne comme moi,
Il n'y aura personne, personne,
Personne pour te gâter,
C'est toi qui n'es jamais content,
Il n'y aura personne... comme moi

Speaks for itself, huh?

Also, Maja has an amazing voice. I get why she´s called Slovenia´s own Christina Aguilera

ROMANIA
4
I feel really happy when I listen to this song, it has to be the beat! The MV is great as well and I just hope it will be as great LIVE!

ESTONIA
3
It has a great beat and the singer is reaaally confident!

IRELAND
4
I can´t believe I´m giving this song a 4 but the song is actually good when you´ve listened to it a few times. I hope it will go well for Jedward, just because Ireland deserves it!

DENMARK
5
I love love love this song!
I love the sing-a-long-feeling the song has, the fact that the band is awesome and the lead singer is very charismatic, walks straight through the camera!

And now
*lol*
My #1 favourite in semi 2

SWEDEN
5
I don´t need to explain, do I?
*wink wink*

Eurovision Song Contest 2011 [Semi 1] Result

Serbia

Lithuania

Greece
Azerbaijan
Georgia
Switzerland
Hungary
Finland
Russia
Iceland

OMG all my faves from ESC Semi final 1 came through to the Grande Finale on Saturday!
Well, except for Norway.
That sucks.

Although, I can´t understand how Greece and Georgia could qualify! Their songs were horrible!
Atleast the Georgian song, it was a mash-up of so many stiles than you got completly confused! And Greece... The lad who sang in Greece was good but the rapper... WTF?! How embarrassing!

But, my 2 faves of the faves made it atleast so I´m happy =)

Thursday & semi 2 next!
Yay Sweden! Yay Denmark! Yay Ireland!

Eurovision Song Contest 2001 [Semi 1]

Evening ladies & gents!

Today has been a calm day. The most exciting (and nervwracking!) thing I did today was watching the ice hockey game.
Finland vs Russia
DIt was veeery exciting at first, it looked very bad for the Lionss part. But it ended well!
*****
Since it´s now after midnight here, it´s Tuesday and it means that TODAY the first semi final in Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, Germany will take place.
You all know I´m a ESC geek and I follow the contests with passion!
Finland - among others - is competing in semi 1 and below I´ve collected the songs that I like the most. I´ve also rated them. 0-5, 5 being the best.

Switzerland
5
I love this song! It´s probably my favourite of the favourites! It´s so cheerful and cute and I get a "I do" (Colbie Caillat)-vide. The singer is awesome and the song is even more awesome!
I just hope the rest of Europe will see the same things I see in this amazing song!

Norway
4
I know people saying this is a straight copy of Shakira´s "Waka Waka" but I don´t get that. The only connection I can see between the Norwegian entry and Shakira´s song is the happiness one get from it.  I really hope it will qualify!

Azerbaijan
3
Azerbaijan has had awesome songs for the past years in the contest, but this doesn´t really add up to them. The song is great, and the duo is great together (even if they seem a bit odd for each other).

Russia
3
All right, I don´t know why this is even a favourite, because this lad singing (Alex) have been trashing one of my ultimate faves from semi 2 (guess who?!) accusing him of plagiarism and all kinds of shite.
But despite that, the song is kinda good but it doesn´t lift and... It gets boring.

Finland
4
All right, my home country´s entry!
I have to admit, when I first heard this, I was sceptical. Most because of the troubadour-feeling I got and that it initially sounded rather dull and flat. But, then whenpeople started to listen to the song and text, was it good. The artist Paradise Oskar also has written it all by myself, is a plus!

Sooo... What did you think? Do you share my opinion or do you totally disagree with me?
Please tell me, I´d love to know!
;-)

Sleepy

Hi blog!
Starting this entry like a typical Swedish 14-year old, haha!

I´ve been dead tired basically all day long. It started with I almost overslept work *horror* I had 15minutes to get ready and get my arse to work... and I did it!
Then one of the girls working at the daycare called in sick, so I had to work overtime. I was supposed to leave work at 12.30p.m. but it wasn´t until 4p.m. I could go home. Yikes!
On top of that, it´s been bloody freezing here today, so it was no joy riding the bike to/from work + spending time outside with the kids in the morning. Brr!

I also realized today that mami is coming home from Italia tonight. I´ve been certain it was tomorrow she´d come but obviously I was proved wrong!

Tomorrow after work, I´ll be rushing off to Vaasa.
I´m going to the movies with Ammi.
We´ll see Water for Elephants.
I´ve wanted to see this movie really bad (no not just because of Robert Pattinson) and now I finally will!
I´d been thinking about seeing either Water for Elephants or Red Riding Hood. Both of the movies are awesome, I´m sure but I´ll be going to see Water for Elephants this time around. Besides Mr Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon is in it and I looove her!

The next movie I´ll see at the movies will surely be

Pirates of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides
I´ll see if I can pre-buy 2 tickets tomorrow.
The movie premieres on 18 May.

Now I´ll be going to bed.
GOOD NIGHT!

Movie I wanna see

Heartbreaker

I so wanna see this one :)
Speaking of movies, I´ve ordered a bunch of ´em home. Can´t wait to watch them!
