♥ Stockholm ♥ 3.-6.3.2011

Hi peeps :-)

I´ve decided to tell you about my awesome trip to Stockholm! I know some of you are waiting for it! *wink wink*

I´ll structure the story-telling like following:
I  Tell you day-to-day what I was up to
II  Add pictures at the end

That will work, right?
;-)

Let´s begin, shall we?
=)

Thursday 3 March

The bus to Turku would leave from Närpes bus station at 4 p.m. and before that, I went to eat at pizzeria Casa with mam (who gave me a lift to the bus station).

The bus arrived shortly before 4 p.m. and it was half full already.
One thing that I found to be a bit weird, was that the majority of the passengers were like 45-50 years and over. Besides me, there were only a few of the passengers that were in my age or younger.
Nevertheless, it was a fun pack!

We had a 30 min break at Köffi, a great coffee place. Then we continued the journey down to Turku. The road down to Turku is so bloody boring, especially if you´ve driven it a million times (like I have).

When we arrived at the harbour in Turku, the bus driver(who also acted tour guide) went to pick up the boarding cards/cabin keys at the Viking Line terminal. When I´d got my card, I went to pick up my luggage and then I went inside.

Due to difficulties with the ice, the ferry was delayed. The terminal was packed with people, which can be annoying at times. A fun thing you can keep yourself occupied with while waiting in the terminal, is trying to figure out which passanger is going on a cruise and which who´s disembarking in Stockholm for instance. Another similar "game" is to figure out which passanger is Finnish and which one who´s Swedish. When you´ve been on the ferry a few times, it´s easy to tell.

Prejudices? Not at all.
*haha*

Soon enough, we were allowed to embark the ferry. It took its time but soon enough I got to my cabin. It was quite small, even the toilet was minimal.

I took a while to relax in the cabin before walking upstairs. I didn´t do anything exciting really, I looked around in the perfume/ retail/ tax-free shop and I bought some stuff. I didn´t buy perfume though, which I found to be weird. I found one I really considered buying but I didn´t.

Am I starting to regret it now? Just typical.

Later on in the evening, I went to the cafeteria on the ferry and bought a sandwich + cup of coffee. I didn´t need anything else as I had eaten before earlier in the day.

I also went to the bar area. I had three tickets that gave me a Cuba Libre drink for 5 €, so I used that one. I´ve tasted better, sure, but when I had a coupon that made it 1 € cheaper, why the hell not?!
;-)

At the same time in the bar, there was some Finnish rap artist performing, called Mikael Gabriel. I have no idea who he is but he seemed to be popular with some of the guests in the bar...

Soon after that, I went back to the cabin, read a bit etc and then I went to bed.

Friday 4 March

Since we were getting breakfast at the hotel in Stockholm, I didn´t have to get up xtra early in the morning to have breakfast on the ferry.

So I slept a bit longer but still not long enough so I had to stress. I got up in time to go to the tax-free to buy Vitamin Water x 2 and some sweets (that would become a present later on, hihi).

When I was done shopping, I went back to the cabin and packed my bags > I put the things I wouldn´t need during the day while being in shopping in the portmanteau and such. Then I went up to deck 7, one of the two decks where the agress would take place.

When I´d gone off the ferry, I went to the bus. When all the passangers had come to the bus, the bus driver took us on a mini-tour around Stockholm. It was so nice! We went to this amazing viewpoint, where you can see all over Stockholm ♥ absolutly gorgeous!

It was a bit over 7 a.m. when we arrived at the hotel. We took our luggage in and put it in a lockable room, as our rooms weren´t ready at that point. And then it was time for breakfast.
It was quite a lot of people there already and the breakfast area wasn´t that big + the lines to the food was quite long. But I found myself a seat and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast!

I didn´t have to rush anything either. When I was happy, contented and my stomach was full - I went to see if my room was available already, which it was! *yay*
So I got my luggage and went up to my room, found on the 3rd floor. It was so cousy and homey! So cute! The bathroom was also very nice!

unpacked the suitcase, hung up my musical outfit and watched TV. I was still full from breakfast so I wanted to get some rest. I ended up watching a movie with Jessica Biel and Colin Firth - among others. It was quite good. Then I watched another show but got irritated because Stefan Sauk was one of the guests *urgh* so I decided to go out on the town.

I found my way to the shopping street Drottninggatan, it was only 2 blocks away from the hotel.
I found this out later when I was back home but the hotel was situated on the same street where the Stockholm bomber detonated in December 2010. Quiiiite scare, if you ask me...
I strolled around, walked in to some shops when I all of a sudden realized the battery in my mobile was getting low. Strange, as I had loaded it full only days before... And I hadn´t brought my phone charger *argh*! So now I had to find one.

I went to the shopping centre Gallerian, with quite high hopes on that I would find a charger rather quickly... But oh was I wrong! I took me 3 stores before I found one *phew* so after that I was rather stressed out - in a way. I then walked my way back down to Drottninggatan and went into Åhléns, probably the biggest store on Drottninggatan. You can find everything there! I spent the majority of the time at the Music & Books section, haha! I thought about buying a DVD and I looked around for some CD singles but I didn´t find them.

(Seriously, I had no desire to shop on the trip, so not like me!)

Eventually I decided to go get something to eat. It was around 1 or 2 pm, I reckon. I wanted time to get ready for the musical, so I went to a hamburger place called Max. The "restaurant" was situated the street below the hotel. It was very yummy! It takes a while to get the food at Max though, they´re not as quick as on e.g. McDonald´s ot Burger King.
I took my time eating my meal and then I went back to the hotel and up to my room.

I watched some TV and I put my mobile phone´s battery to start loading. Then I started to get ready for the musical; taking a shower, fixing my hair, getting dressed, picking out jewellery, painting the nails, getting my handbag ready and putting money, musical ticket and mobile phone in it. It took a while *hihi* but I had time.

The bus would leave at 6.30 pm from the hotel to Göta Lejon, so I went down to the hotel lobby around 6 pm. I went outside for a while but it was pretty chilly + I hadn´t my jacket with me sooo... I went back inside! ;-)

Anyways, the bus left and we slowly made our way to Göta Lejon. When I saw the entrence, with the huge Romeo & Julia poster with M and Lisette, I started to smile. Secretly of course, as I didn´t want to show my fellow passangers how f*cking overjoyed to actually be there on the spot.

Anyhow, we walked inside. The lobby was already packed and they were selling the program sheets for 60 SEK ~ 6 € each. I bought 2, hihi. One of them I gave away! The lobby was also decorated in R & J style. On the way up the stairs to the balcony (both on left and right sides) they had huge photos on Måns and Lisette. Each photo on each side. The photo of Måns made me weak in the knees, totally! He´s so gorgeous!

Anyways, my ticket told me that my seat was on row 11 and seat 30..9, I think. I thought to myself, "Voi crap, it´s probably a sucky spot to sit on" but noooo I would be proven wrong! It was an awesome spot! The seats were bloody narrow though, especially for a longer person - like myself. Anyways, the seat was awesome! It was right on the middle of the row too, so I saw everything so well! *thumbs of for that!*
The musical then... How can I describe it? *hmm*
What about...
OH MY #@!9Z GOD Y
That sums it up, don´t you think?
*LOL*
It was so awesome, magical, out of this world...! I could go on forever! Måns was AMAZING as Romeo, Lisette was awesome as Juliet, the rest of the cast was great (especially the lad who played Mercutio, he was hilarious!) and the music, oh the music! F*cking amazing!
I was smiling all the way out of Göta Lejon and when I got back to the hotel room, my hands were shaking! Craazy!

Summa summarum, I´d LOVE to see it again and I have a feeling I will! Maybe not in the Spring but maybe in the Autumn :-)
Anyone who would like to join me?
*muahaha*

Being back at the hotel room, I watched a movie with Cameron Diaz, called My Sister´s Keeper. It was really good but sad. I´ve also read the book, which was amazing!

After watching the movie done, I went to bed, still smiling :-)

Saturday 5 March

I slept like a baby during the night so I was going strong in the morning, got ready for breakfast. It was more delicious this morning than the morning before hehe! But I still can´t stand the Swedish coffee, my God! It´s so strong! Maybe the Swedes don´t think that way, but the Finnish coffee are - compared to the Swedish one - normal in taste & strenght.

Anyways, after I´d enjoyed the delicious breakfast, I went back to my hotel room and started packing.

The most fun thing about this day, was of course the fact that my sweet Angeliqa would come to Stockholm, which was an awesome encounter! It had been waaaay too long! Not really that long, I last saw her in August 2010 for almost a whole week!
We walked around in the city, we even saw a celebrity *uuuh* and joked about stalking another one *whooooah*!

We went for coffee at this amazing place called American Cookies in the shopping centre Gallerian. We both took brownie with soft ice cream + cappucino. Delicious and oh how satisfying!

While we were sitting and enjoying our yummy snack, Angie´s friend Jojje also joined us.

Later on, we walked through the Old Town, a real cousy part of Stockholm that I just love love love!
I don´t really know how long we were there, but we visited different shops + the church Storkyrkan, where the Royal Wedding took place on 19 June last year. I totally get it why, it was really impressive and majestetic!

Around 4 p.m. we decided it was time for dinner. We thought about some options but decided on a Chinese restaurant where all of us had eaten before (me in March 2009, on the same trip as when I saw E.M.D. performing on the ferry back) and it tasted delicious! Me ♥ Chinese!

When we were done eating on the Chinese restaurant, we started walking back to the hotel. I wanted to make a stop at the grocery store on Åhléns´ first, so I could buy the "traditional" newspapers + some more drinks. Then we walked back to the hotel, where I got my luggage.
At the same time, I gave Angeliqa a bag with different treats, e.g. the program sheet for Romeo & Julia, sweets sweets and more sweets *hihi*, a funny lil hamster (toy one) etc etc. I think it was well appreciated.
We´re spoiling each other hihi!

At 6.30 p.m. the bus left to go to the harbour, so I said bye bye to Angeliqa and Jojje *sob*. When getting to the harbour, we had to wait for the boarding cards and then I could get into the terminal. I took a seat and waited...

I read on the TV screen, where they had the cruise programme on display, that the Swedish Idols winner of 2008, Kevin Borg, would perform at midnight. At first, I thought it didn´t ad up but when I actually had come onboard the ferry, I saw Kevin´s fiancée so I sort of understood that Kevin actually would perform later that night.

To keep myself occupied before Kevin´s gig would start, I walked to the shop but it was so bloody packed there that I didn´t have the patience to be there. I went to call mam instead and later on I went to the bar.

Kevin´s gig was awesome, by the way! He performed Rollin´ on the River, which totally gets me to think about when he performed at the all-song show in Åminne, Malax... Amazing!

I had two drinks in the bar, Cuba Libre and San Francisco. Yummy!
I had some Cuba Libre-coupons in my cabin when arriving, so I used one.

When Kevin´s gig was over, I went to bed.

Sunday 6 March

I don´t know what was wrong with me, but I woke up way too early, like an hour too early. I packed my stuff and went to the tax-free to buy some stuff, the normal stuff you buy in the ferry´s tax-free: alcohol and sweets.

I then went to the buffet to have breakfast *yummy* but the annoying part was that it was packed and very loud.

When arriving to Turku, I wanted to get to the bus as soon as possible, as I had a quite heavy load from the ferry *phew*. Then started the loooong boring bus trip back up to Närpes. Luckily I got to sleep for a few hours. We took a break at Köffi *again* and we arrived to Närpes bus station around noon. Mam came to pick me up.

Summa Summarum...
I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME!

My hotel room @ Horel Frey
My bed in the hotel room + the cute teddy bear that was waiting for me when I got there. I could´ve bought it for 150 SEK ~ 15 € and a majority of that sum would´ve gone to charity. I didn´t though :-)

The view from my hotel room wasn´t the best
American Cookies - the best spot in central Stockholm to get coffee at!
The narrowest street in Stockholm (Old Town)
These two were holding on to this builing in central Stockholm. I understood it to be part of some project of some kind.

Storkyrkan, where the Royal wedding took place.

The program sheet for the musical :-)
Prize: 60 SEK ~ 6 €
